Coogi Zoo By Glass2Grass x TRIP A’s Ashley Austin

September 16, 2023 GLASS2GRASS returned with another amazing gallery experience, this time featuring artist TRIP A. Artist Ashley Ann Austin, known as TRIP A, has brought her unique vision to life through a stunning collection of glass pieces inspired by the iconic artistry of Coogi. From Minneapolis, TRIP A has taken nodes from her psychedelic experiences, love of fashion, and global cultures. As visitors step into the gallery, they are greeted by a dazzling array of glasswork that seamlessly blends art, fashion, and design. TRIP A's creations pay homage to the intricate patterns and vibrant colors that define Coogi knitwear, translating them into exquisite, functional and smokeable glassware. She also credits her background in Anthropology and Textile Construction for leading her in the direction of crafting the pieces. In production, she hand draws the patterns, then will layer the patterns using the torch and flame to melt the glass. Each colorway she focuses on is from vintage Coogi Sweaters from 1986-1999, created by the original owners of Coogi. Their designs and patterns can be seen from all over the world, providing a new perspective on the art.
